We were on an 8 day cruise from Monte Carlo to Athens that had a number of really great stops — Christina is looking at Mount Vesuvius in the distance, and we had just returned from a tour of Pompeii.
If you check my profile picture I just changed it to another selfie taken at the same time, with Vesuvius and the Cruise terminal in the background.
Castel Nuovo was just a five minute walk from the terminal — the view from the ship was so striking we decided to check it out. It was mid-afternoon when we got there, and by chance a wedding was just finishing — a biker wedding. The parking lot was full of big old motorcycles, and everyone but the Bride and Groom were in their leathers, straight out of “The Wild One”.
The happy couple got in an immaculate classic car (eg, ’56 Dodge, or something like that, polished and gleaming), and they were followed out of the lot by a fleet of roaring bikes and a cloud of exhaust.
Wasn’t quite my image of Italy, but I guess Naples has a bit of a rough reputation 🙂
Lol! Your narrative skills are top notch Kent. Quite the trip then, ancient mountains, medieval castles, good company, vintage cars and a leathery wedding to boot, and no rough housing in Naples? …. I weep with envy buddy, weep with envy! :-D
Testing it with camera or with cellphone, although more interesting to know is where this pic was taken …
Helen Ikua A cellphone. It was at “Castel Nuovo”, in Naples: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Castel+Nuovo/@40.838136,14.2470473,15.5z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xc131a1902329c922!8m2!3d40.8384894!4d14.2527196?hl=en
